Novakid-kielikoulussa lapset oppivat englantia kuten äidinkieltä. Oppilaiden osaaminen karttuu aktiiviviestinnässä äidinkielenään englantia puhuvien opettajien kanssa. Tunnit on järjestetty hauskalla ja tehokkaalla tavalla ja ne kestävät 25 minuuttia. Näin lapsen tarkkaavaisuus säilyy ja lapsi oppii ja muistaa opitun tehokkaammin. Pääasiallinen opetusmuoto on virtuaalinen luokka, jossa oppitunti muuttuu jännittäväksi seikkailuksi!
Novakid-ohjelmat on suunniteltu eurooppalaisen CEFR-standardin tasojen A1 ja A2 mukaiseksi. Ne vastaavat Cambridge English YLE Starters-, Movers- ja Flyers -testejä. Kokeilutunnin aikana opettaja määrittelee lapsen osaamisen tason ja seuraa hänen kehittymistään opintojen aikana edistymisen varmistamiseksi.
Novakidin ohjelmat ottavat eri ikäisten lasten psykologiset ominaisuudet huomioon. Kokeilutunnilla opettaja määrittää lapsen osaamisen tason ottaen huomioon iän ja lapsen tietojen tason. Novakidin opettajat ja opetussuunnittelijat seuraavat lapsen edistymistä ja säätävät ohjelmaa lapsen tarpeiden perusteella koko oppimisprosessin ajan.
Total Physical Response (TPR) tarkoittaa koko kehon käyttöä oppimisessa. Opettaja ei esitä kieltä vain kirjoitetussa tai puhutussa muodossa, vaan myös ilmeillä, eleillä ja jopa koko kehon liikkeillä! Tämän menetelmän avulla oppilas ymmärtää paremmin opetettavan asian merkityksen ja aktivoi myös useampia aivojen alueita oppimisen helpottamiseksi. Lapsia kannustetaan toistamaan ja osallistumaan liikkeisiin ja eleisiin oppitunnin aikana, mikä auttaa heitä oppimaan materiaalin paljon nopeammin ja tehokkaammin. Yhdessä kommunikatiivisen lähestymistavan kanssa TPR-menetelmä antaa hyviä, todistettuja tuloksia.
