Bij Novakid leren de kinderen Engels op dezelfde manier hoe ze hun moedertaal hebben geleerd. Novakid-programma's zijn opgebouwd volgens de A1 en A2 niveaus van het Europees Referentiekader (ERK), wat overeenkomt met de Cambridge English YLE-tests voor Starters, Movers en Flyers. Tijdens de proefles wordt het taalniveau van uw kind bepaald. De leerkrachten zullen het verder als referentiekader gebruiken om de vooruitgang te boeken en taalontwikkeling te verzekeren.
De programma's van Novakid houden rekening met de psychologische eigenschappen van kinderen van verschillende leeftijden. Bij een proefles bepaalt de leraar het niveau van een kind, rekening houdend met zijn leeftijd en kennis. De leerkrachten en methodologen van Novakid volgen de vorderingen en passen het leerprogramma gedurende het hele leerproces aan de behoeften van het kind aan.
Bij de Total Physical Response (TPR)-methode laat de leerkracht niet alleen dia's zien, maar beeldt hij het materiaal ook uit met gebaren, gezichtsuitdrukkingen en bewegingen. Kinderen herhalen graag bewegingen na de leerkracht en ze leren de stof zo veel sneller en efficiënter. Samen met de communicatieve aanpak levert de TPR-methode goede resultaten op. Wij zien dat zelfs kinderen die nog nooit Engels hebben geleerd, al na een maand regelmatige lessen beginnen te spreken.
