Hos Novakid kan barna lære engelsk som et innfødt språk. Elevenes ferdigheter oppøves gjennom naturlig, muntlig dialog med morsmålstalende. Novakid-programmene er bygget opp i samsvar med A1- og A2-nivåene i den europeiske CEFR-standarden, som tilsvarer Cambridge English YLE Starters, Movers and Flyers-tester. Læreren avgjør engelsknivå ved hjelp av en prøveleksjon, og følger videre med på utviklingen gradvis som barnet fortsetter opplæringen og utvikler seg.
Novakid-programmer tar hensyn til psykologiske karakteristika hos barn i forskjellige aldre. På en prøveleksjon fastsetter læreren barnets nivå, utfra barnets alder og kunnskaper. Novakid-lærere og metodespesialister overvåker fremdriften, og tilpasser programmet etter barnets behov gjennom hele læringsprosessen.
Når en lærer bruker metoden Total Physical Response (TPR), viser læreren ikke bare lysbilder, men levendegjør undervisningen med gester, mimikk og bevegelser. Barna liker å gjenta bevegelser etter lærerne, og de lærer mye raskere og mer effektivt. Sammen med den kommunikative tilnærmingen gir TPR-metoden gode resultater. Vi ser at selv barn som ikke har lært engelsk før, begynner å snakke etter bare en måned med jevnlige leksjoner.
