Hi! I'd be happy to help with compound nouns! A compound noun is when two or more words are put together to form a single noun, which usually describes a person, place, or thing. There are three types of compound nouns:

  1. Closed form: Two words joined together, like football or toothpaste.
  2. Hyphenated form: Two or more words connected by hyphens, like mother-in-law or well-being.
  3. Open form: Separate words that work together, like coffee cup or high school.

Here’s a sample sentence using a closed-form compound noun:
"I forgot to bring my notebook to class."

Thank you and hope this helps!
