How to pronounce "ng"?

When pronouncing 'ng' in words such as 'king' or 'ring', the 'g' is not pronounced the same as the 'g' in 'garden', which is a very hard sound. 'ng' is quite a nasal sound and bears no resemblance to the individual 'n' and 'g' sounds. The combination 'ng' is a soft, thick sound and is made by pressing the back of your tongue to the back, top of the palate in your mouth.
