What are comparative adjectives examples?
Hey, I came across this exercise with common adjectives. Could you help with the comparative forms? For example: ‘strong’ and ‘big’ — we need to fill in the comparative for sentences like 'He is much ___ than before' and 'This box is ___ than the other one.'

Hello! Here's how to form the comparative for adjectives like "strong" and "big":

  • For most one-syllable adjectives, you add "-er" to make the comparative. If the adjective ends in a single consonant after a single vowel, double the consonant before adding "-er."
  • For most two- and more syllable adjectives, you add "more" before the adjective.

For example:

  • StrongStronger
    • He is much stronger than before.
  • BigBigger
    • This box is bigger than the other one.

Exercise:

Fill in the blanks with the correct comparative form of the adjectives in parentheses.

  1. My dog is much ______ (fast) than yours.
  2. This problem is ______ (easy) than I thought.
  3. He is getting ______ (strong) every day.
  4. This room is ______ (large) than the one next door.
  5. The test was ______ (difficult) than I expected.

I hope this helps!
