To gaslight someone is to control another person’s thoughts about themselves or a situation. It can be done by a romantic partner, a boss, a family member, or anyone else who holds emotional power over someone else. Sometimes, gaslighting has been going on for a long period and the victim starts to question his/her thoughts and memories which can eventually lead to a loss of confidence and mental or emotional stability.

Hello! While chatting with other parents online about parenting challenges, someone mentioned a situation where they felt confused and manipulated by their child's behavior. They used the term 'gaslighting' to describe it, and now I'm curious to understand its meaning better please.
