Hi Jenice! That's a good question. Some of my students tend to be confused about the differences between enunciation and pronunciation.

Pronunciation is about saying words correctly. It means making the sounds of the words the right way. For example, the correct pronunciation of "tomato" in American English is "tuh-MAY-toh."

Enunciation is about saying words clearly. It means making sure every word is easy to understand. For example, when you say, "I need help," with good enunciation, each word is clear and easy to hear.

Here's a simple sentence using both words:

  • "His pronunciation of Spanish words is good, but he needs to work on his enunciation so everyone can understand him."

Thank you and hope this helps!
